Welcome!
Hi, I’m Kristy, lover of God, family, friends, good books, and yummy food. I’m also on a quest to get in the best shape of my life. As a clean and wholesome/Christian romance author, I spend much of my days sitting at a desk. And we all know that a sedentary lifestyle isn’t conducive to good health. So it’s time to change all that. To start counteracting the side effects of too little activity, hypothyroidism, and gluten intolerance. Yeah, It’s time to get busy because I plan on living to be a happy, healthy, and energetic centenarian. I also plan on writing a lot more books! 🙂

Excerpts and Updates
In trying to get back into the habit of blogging again, I thought I’d share another short excerpt, another song from my writing playlist, though tonight I’m revising an outline. It’s always interesting when you’re partway through a story and … Continue reading →
Roommates or Lovers?
I have a question for you. It doesn’t matter if you’re a guy (Romeo) or a gal (Juliet). What I’d like to know is this – how are your romantic gestures being received? Are you even making romantic gestures? If grades were … Continue reading →
A Very Special Offer!
Over the years, I’ve found that when you work from home, the people in your life tend to think you’re not really working. How can it be a real job if you’re not punching a time clock? And if it’s … Continue reading →
A Little Nervous - and a Lot Excited!
A few weeks ago, fellow author Ruth Ann Nordin invited me to be part of a project for next year. A project that involves mail-order brides in the 1800s. Of course I said yes! And then I said, “yikes!” I’ve … Continue reading →
3 Really Good Romantic Movies!
What makes a movie romantic? What is it that draws us in and keeps us glued to our seats, mindlessly munching buttery, artery clogging popcorn as we wait, breathlessly, for that final ‘aw’ inspiring scene? That moment we know our … Continue reading →
Overdo Makeovers
Yes, everyone, makeovers. When people tell you that your 2010s romance novels look like throwbacks to the 80s, it’s time to do something about it. So I did - and I’m excited to introduce you to the new Coach’s Boys covers! They’ll … Continue reading →
Profile 3: Elaine Marie Lawson
As I explained in my post on Friday, this profile is about two weeks late but I hope you’ll still enjoy Lainey’s profile. She was an easy character to come up with because she’s every girl in developed countries rolled … Continue reading →
Trying Something New
In the past five years or so, my blog posts have been all over the map – from a toothache to health issues to the occasional movie review to my septic tank … usually though, they’re not related to writing. … Continue reading →
